I'm very grateful to fellow writer Debbie at Bluestocking Mum for the Versatile Writer Award below. It's always humbling to know that people actually read our blogs and find them worthy of an award! Debbie's own blog is a great read. This is also a marvellous way to discover new blogs and I'd recommend a dip into those below if you have time.
In the spirit of the award, I have to list 7 things about myself, then pass the award on to others. I'm choosing to pass it on to ten other blogs I enjoy reading - I've tried to include blogs I've never given an award to before, although there are many more I could have chosen!
Seven Things:
1. I worked in the Isle of Man for the two summers before leaving school.
2. Fulfilled my adolescent fantasy of having a midnight swim there one evening (it was wonderful)!
3. The dance I most want to learn is the Tango (not sure about husband though).
4. I studied Latin for two years at school for pleasure (which it was) - and I scraped an 'O' Grade in it!
5. I love travelling by train (as does husband) and still have some countries to explore that way.
6. Did a year and a half nurse's training after school until discovering I detested hospitals (and still do).
7. I once youth hostelled around part of Scotland with a friend (in the distant past).
Now I have pleasure in passing the award on to:
Teresa Ashby
Carol's Corner
Debs Carr
Diane Fordham
Luci Wheeler
Diana at My Life in Writing
Suzy at My Journal
Enjoy,
Rosemary

Wow, thank you so much for the award. And I loved learning new things about you. But, um, what is an O grade? Where I'm at, A is the top score, then B is next, down through C and D. They skip E for some reason and then, F is flunking--the worst.
My husband and I want to learn the Polka dance.
You're welcome, Linda. Oops, I didn't think about the meaning of the 'o' grade! We have Standard Grade exams (in 4th year at high school), then Highers (in 5th or 6th year), and mine was the old fashioned equivalent of Standard Grade (ordinary grade) - that's a good thing to have!
Thank you Rosemary - I'm delighted to be a versatile blogger! They were very interesting things I never knew about you - most impressed by the Latin for pleasure!
You're very welcome, Janice. I loved English and languages (did French and German) so it seemed a good idea!
Thank you, Rosemary! I loved your seven things - I tried the midnight swim once and it was so cold we all chickened out and had a paddle instead :-)
Thanks so much for this cute award Rosemary. Looking forward to your book.
Thank you for the award Rosemary :-) Now I have just got to work out seven things about myself! It took me a while to work out how to get the picture of the award on my blog, lol. For months now I had tried to work out how to put the stylish award Teresa gave me. Done!!!! I guess with a little patience and lots of determination one can achieve anything! x
Thank you for the Versatile Blogger award, Rosemary, it's great.
Teresa - you're welcome. I was glad to be able to award you one this time! I was probably shivering too but enjoyed it too much to care (I was a water baby and 'grew up' in a cold sea water pool).
Glad to award it to you, Suzy.
Well done on working it out, Diane! I meant to leave instructions.
You're welcome, Carol - you have some great photos on your blog.
Thanks for the award. So nice of you!! I am getting my house ready to put on the market so I'm a bit frazzled, but plan to accept and link back to you when I'm a little less wacky. lol. I'm soooo jealous about Scotland. How awesome would that be? I'm in love with Ireland and can't wait to go there one day just so I can call people "idgets" all I want without a worry. :)
Hi Diane - you're very welcome! I do hope you manage to get settled soon - it's such a stressful time for anyone making such changes.
Thank you so much for this award, Rosemary. Apologies for taking my time accepting it.
x
You're very welcome, Lucy!
