Exciting New Year

The old year was one of great opportunities and hard work, in which I did two big adjudications and saw many of my own short stories and articles in print. The highlight of course was the acceptance of my first novel, Dangerous Deceit, by Champagne Books in Canada. What a rollercoaster that was, with my very first professional edits completed just at the year end. My lovely editor, Nikki, made that a pleasant experience. Looking forward to the final proofs, and especially to getting the cover.

I'm an optimist by nature, and always look forward with anticipation to what a new year might bring. This year already features two major events. My son is getting married at the beginning of July and my novel comes out in May! How exciting is that? Son's wedding will be fairly small and is taking place on a Scottish island, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Gradually getting into the swing of this newer blog and I'll be adding more information to it soon. Now I have to get more involved in promotion over the next few months and I've already taken part in a couple of online chats. This is all new to me!

Thank you to all who take time to read the blog or leave comments on it. It's much appreciated.

Here's to a happy, healthy and successful 2011.

Looking forward to reading your book at last, Rosemary. I hope you're working on the second, too.

Thanks, Bill. Sort of - usual problem of which writing to concentrate on first!
