The excitement lasted a whole week when I received the wonderful news: my first Regency novel, Dangerous Deceit, was accepted for publication by Champagne Books in Canada! So many family members, friends and writing colleagues to tell - I was on cloud nine. When the doorbell rang a few days later, it was a florist with this beautiful bouquet of flowers from a lovely writing friend. She understood what it meant to me, after years of freelance writing. And she knows how she will feel when it happens to her.
And so it begins... there's still the editing, the book cover, and the proofs to come before there is a book. But it's a new adventure and I'm more than ready to get started on the journey. Bring it on!

Oh that's brilliant, Kathy! Look forward to hearing about it.

How sweet of your friend to send flowers. That's a real treasure there.
Thanks a lot, Ciara - it's been good to 'meet' lots of Champagne authors at the beginning of the journey.
Thank you, Jude - the flowers from this friend were an exciting confirmation that the acceptance was real! My lovely daughter, and two other great friends later supplied me with more flowers, and another lovely, close friend took me to lunch. I am blessed indeed!
Well done Rosemary - both on the book and this terrific new blog! Looking forward to reading Dangerous Deceit.
Good to hear from you, Gilly - thanks a lot!
