What a fascinating programme I watched on the BBC the other evening - recreating the Regency ball from Pride and Prejudice for the 200th anniversary year.
The two presenters investigated all the interesting details of hosting such an event - from the food, to the clothes, to the intricate dances. I was pleased to discover I'd picked up many of the correct social conventions over the years, but I learned a few more! Nothing can beat seeing it all reconstructed and explained for a modern audience.
You might be able to catch the programme on BBC iPlayer and hopefully it will be repeated.

I really enjoyed it. It was 90 minutes of bliss, being able to see behind the scenes.
I especially enjoyed one of the presenters dressing up and taking part in the dancing and supper. :-)
Absolutely, Carol - a gift to all Regency writers!
