On our UK news last night, we saw Queen Elizabeth II being shown the new website to launch the online publication of
Queen Victoria's Journals covering the period from 1832 to 1901. This is a wonderful resource for historical novelists everywhere. Thirteen of the journals are actually in Victoria's own hand and there are also several of the young queen's own drawings and paintings.
As our own queen is about to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee in June, it seems fitting to remember that Victoria was the first British monarch to attain such an anniversary. It's an exciting online primary historical resource and will provide much detail about the Victorian age for students, historians and writers.

I saw this, and thought to myself, "It's a shame I don't write in the Victorian era" lol.
